The Fall - Twitch Marble Game

Limited to Windows users only (sorry!).

This is a small marble game that you can run in background for your Twitch streaming sessions.

Install process:

• Unzip the file into a new folder
• Run the game a first time, you should see the following animated message: Config file was missing and got created! Please visit "%appdata%/LocalLow/ShidyGames/TheFall_TwitchMarbleGame" and edit the "config.json" file to allow the game to connect to Twitch.
• As said, exit the game and go to %appdata%\LocalLow\ShidyGames\TheFall_TwitchMarbleGame to edit the config.json file.
  • Enter your Twitch username in the "twitch_username " field (e.g. shidygames)
  • Enter your Twitch channel name in the "twitch_channel" field (usually the same than you Twitch username, e.g. "shidygames").
  • Finally, go to twitchapps.com/tmi to generate your own Twitch oauth token. Never communicate or show this token on stream or anywhere else.  Copy-paste it into the "twitch_oauth_password" field.
  • All set! If your username/channel name/token are correct, you should be able to see "!join" animated text ingame instead of the previous error message. If not, exit the game and double check the config.json file again!

Player saved information:

Some information are stored in the computer that runs the game about people that are entering the game:

• Twitch username
• Current score
• Skin number

Those information can be accessed by going into the folder %appdata%\LocalLow\ShidyGames\TheFall_TwitchMarbleGame\Players. As the streamer, you can edit/delete or even create JSON files in this folder to cheat a bit if you wish (or delete a file if a user request it in chat).

Ingame commands:

• !join: to enter a game when prompted on screen.
• More commands will be added later on!

Good to know:

• The game will post messages in your chat as you (with your username) to tell the people about the game's current state (e.g. "game is starting, type !join to enter" or "@handle scored").
• The setup of the game can be tested offline on Twitch: just run the game and go to your channel, then open your chat and type !join to play.
